Perth Badminton Arena is one of Perth's leading badminton destinations — community participation, elite training, tournaments, and social play under one roof. More than court hire: it carries players from their first social game through to high-performance athletes, with a pro shop, sponsored teams, and a growing footprint behind it.

Everything that makes a strong brand was already on court. The digital presence wasn't. Posting was inconsistent, engagement was low, and most of what makes the arena what it is — elite development, tournament culture, the community around it — never made it online.

Strategy

Not a venue, a community

They came to us with a clear challenge: build a presence that reflects the energy, professionalism, and opportunity inside the sport, rather than a facility with courts available on Tuesdays.

So we stopped promoting the building and started showing the people in it — the progression, the performance, and the players at every level of it.

That gave us a balance to hold. Elite enough to be aspirational, open enough that a first-timer still feels invited. And a calendar built around when the sport actually happens.

Content

Fast, loud, and still welcoming

A high-energy visual direction that carries the speed and intensity of badminton without losing the premium sporting feel. Fast-paced action, dramatic tournament coverage, player highlights, and behind-the-scenes training for the professionalism.

Community-driven moments sat alongside all of it, so the content still read as accessible to players of any level. Aspirational without becoming exclusive — elite, but deeply community-led.

The bigger job was showing the breadth. We took the storytelling past court hire — tournaments, coaching, junior development, elite training, sponsored athletes, and the arena's role in bringing emerging players through. Athlete spotlights, hype reels, tournament recaps, and training education became the pillars, helping players feel part of something bigger. We also brought attention to the pro shop and sponsored players, so the whole ecosystem around the venue got visibility rather than just the courts.

Reels

Six reels, one court

Match days, athletes, and training — reels shot on-site and posted around the badminton calendar rather than around spare time.

Stills from the system

The same visual language, applied across stills — for feed posts, highlight covers, and anything that needs to sit next to the reels and still feel like one brand.

The System

Built around the calendar

Monthly planning, consistent posting, content automation, event coverage, and tournament campaigns gave the arena a rhythm that matches the sport's own. The same system carried two milestones: the launch of a new venue and the relaunch of an existing location, both with awareness built ahead of the doors opening.

Outcomes

Perception, not just engagement

The shift showed up as recognition rather than a single metric — more tournament registrations off stronger event promotion, more attention on the pro shop and sponsored athletes, more visibility for the development pathways, and a following that actually engages. Perth Badminton Arena stopped reading as a place to book a court and started reading as a sporting brand: professional, elite, and community-run at the same time.

A sporting brand people want to be part of

Sports content has to do more than inform — it has to energise, build belonging, and get people off the couch. We gave the arena a presence that looks like what happens on court: high-performance training, real community, and a culture players want in on.
