40 Fill-in-the-Blank Hooks for Local Businesses

Opening lines for your videos, sorted by type and written for cafes, clinics, trades and studios. Swap in your details and film today.

A person filming with a phone

The first two seconds decide whether anyone watches the rest. A hook isn’t a gimmick. It’s a promise: watch this, and you’ll get that.

Three rules before you pick one:

  1. Promise something specific, then deliver it. If your hook says “three mistakes”, show three mistakes. Breaking a promise loses trust faster than a boring hook.
  2. Lead with what it’s costing them. “Got a leaking tap?” is easy to ignore. “That drip is costing you $200 a year” makes people stop.
  3. Talk like a person, not a radio ad. Skip “Are you a busy business owner looking to…”. Say it the way you would to a customer at the counter.
